Oklahoma Association of Wedding Professionals is a Non-Denominational Christian Wedding Ministry that serves the state of Oklahoma by performing and providing traditional and non-traditional weddings, pre-marital counseling, and renewal of vows, spiritual guidance and guest speaking. The wedding services can be held in parks, malls, wedding chapels, churches, and homes, Bed and Breakfast and wherever else the couple would like to be married. The pre-marital counseling is offered so that a couple can have the best start before entering into marriage and also provide a less expensive Marriage License from the State.

We provide a personalized wedding ceremony for those without a church or parish. Every ceremony is crafted and customized to reflect your desires. We talk about your religious or non-religious backgrounds and how to reflect them in the ceremony. All of our Chaplains and Ministers are independent Professionals Christian clergies, authorized to perform all standard Christian services including the rights of marriage and baptism. All of our Chaplains and Ministers are registered through Oklahoma County to be able to perform wedding ceremonies in the state of Oklahoma.

Code of Ethics: Members of the Oklahoma Association of Wedding Professionals:

" Will always present ourselves in a professional manner.
" Will possess all license's and/or credentials required by the laws of the state of Oklahoma and Communities to legally perform Wedding Ceremonies.
" Will offer a simple to read and understand Agreement with prices and services clearly stated.
" Will go the extra mile to obtain 100% customer satisfaction with preparation and presentation.
" If a dispute arises, it will be settled professionally and promptly.
" Will stay in constant communication with their clients.
" Will always treat the Bride, Groom, Families, Guests and all Wedding Vendors with respect.

What to look for in Wedding Officiant: When selecting a pastor, justice of the peace, priest, minister, bishop, rabbi, or other wedding professional to officiate your wedding the most important factor should be their personality and the chemistry they have with you and your fiance'. You will want a wedding officiant that relates to you and your beliefs and will perform the ceremony accordingly.

The qualities you want to look for in your wedding officiant second to their personality and beliefs are good public speaking skills, good human relations skills, experience, and can effectively handle all variety of people and situations, and one that will respect your wishes.

It is important that you and your fiancé' are on the same page as to what type of ceremony you would like to have and be sure to select the officiant that performs that type of Ceremony; whether it be Religious Wedding Ceremony, Non-denominational Wedding Ceremony, Spiritual Wedding Ceremony, Interfaith Wedding Ceremony, Cultural Ceremony, Civil Wedding Ceremony, etc.

Wedding Services: Our highly trained and dedicated Professional Chaplains and Ministers will work with the bride and groom to custom design a service that fits their personality and beliefs. Although traditional weddings are still the norm, we also work as non-traditional facilitators to make your wedding ceremony a special beginning to the celebration of your life and union together.

Fees range from $180 to $330.00 depending on the services required.

Oklahoma Law on Marriage as of July 01, 2003: A marriage license fee is $50.00 and the applicant must pay in cash only. No personal checks are accepted. With Pre-Marital Counseling the cost of the license is only $5.00.

You must be 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Must have I.D.- Drivers License or certified birth certificate. License is good for ten (10) days only. Must be returned for recording by the Court Clerk within five (5) days of use. The minister who performs the ceremony must be registered in this State.

(Note: As of Nov. 1st, 2004, you are no longer required to have a blood test before getting your marriage license.)
